shut out...d'oh!

If any of you have been tracking you can clearly see that a week has gone by and my scoring tally hasn’t went up at all. I’ve been shutout this week completely - practically unheard of! I play on a team called the Senators (no, not the Ottawa Senators -I’m still in contract disputes with them), and we’re actually on a fairly long winning streak. We’ve only lost one game this whole calendar year (which is about 10 games so far). For our team that’s a record! I play in an industrial league with mainly OPG players - i.e. with guys that I work with. Our team has to be one of the oldest teams in the league with the average age being about 45 yrs old. I’m definitely the kid of the group. So yesterday we played a team called the Whalers - these guys have to be one of the chippiest teams ever! I’ve never had so many “hacks” on my arms and legs. Supposedly this is a non-contact league - it’s getting ridiculous really. We ended up winning 2-0 which felt really good - they were pretty pissed off. I love playing a dirty hockey team and pissing them off in the end..hehehee….sucks to be them! On the downside I had to play a little defense which stunted my goal scoring output, d’oh. I’ll be off for two weeks now so the team will have to do without me…oh no!

I’ve finally started getting organized for my trip as well. I’ve made a list of things that I need - u know, Passport, money, etc, etc.. I’m going to head off to Mountain Equipment Co-op to pick up a new backpack as well (maybe some new shoes and jacket as well). I love this place, it’s just too bad the price of everything is so darn expensive. Here’s the dilemma I have right now. My flight from Toronto to London arrives at about 9:10 pm London time. I’m going to meet a buddy of mine there and stay with him the night (maybe grab a couple brews if I feel the need!). My flight to Dublin leaves at 7:10 am and arrives around 8:10 am. That means, I have to somehow get checked out of the terminal and cab it to the hostel in Dublin by 9:30 in order to make my “bus” trip in time. Knowing my luck I’ll end up missing my bus for some reason and end up spending a fortune in cab fare trying to find them. Oh well, it’s ALL part of the adventure..hehee. I want to get a new backpack so I have a better chance on convincing the airport authorities that it’s small enough for carry-on :). I still have a million things to do as well…gotta love traveling!!

There’s not too much going on the girl front right now. I’ve been chatting with a girl from Oz lately which is always fun. I’m looking forward to seeing Julia again. She sent me an email a couple days ago, I guess she’s resigning from her job and moving back down under (Sydney). I think it’s a great move for her really, her personality is so much more of an Aussie/Kiwi girl then she is a London chick. I think she’ll be much more at home there. On the downside I’ll have to fly around the world to see her now…d’oh! Oh well, I haven’t been to Australia yet….lol. I haven’t heard from Karen since we did a little tour around her place looking for condo’s - which was almost a month ago now. I’m pretty sure she just wanted to go out that time to get her mind off of a guy that screwed around with her anyways :P. I really gotta get over this chick.
