where's me leprechaun? So I've decided to go to Ireland! It seems that every time I promise to save money for a condo or house, I get these wild traveling ideas and end up halfway across the world. In this case, I'm planning on heading to Ireland for most of March, and then fly back to London to visit some of my Contiki friends. To be exact, I'm leaving on March 8th to London, taking a plane to Ireland where I'll be backpacking and touring for 6 days, partying in Dublin for St. Patties day, and then back to London until I leave on the 23rd. I'm actually going to meet a bunch of Aussie friends in Ireland for St.Patties day - I'm definitely looking forward to green beer in Ireland...maybe even the odd Guinness! My 2 main aussie "mates" are Rusty and Scott - both of them are pretty hilarious - and awesome drinking buddies. Rusty is a transplanted Aussie living and working in London for a couple years (also an engineer - go figure) and Scotty is living in Ireland for a couple years. I'm actually going to be taking a "contiki" type tour of Ireland for the first 6 days - this gives me a chance to get to see most of Ireland at a pretty reasonable price. I'm also anticipating meeting some more drinking buddies on the bus - I so love meeting new friends - it's the best part of traveling. I'm getting my digital camera out so there will definitely be some questionable photographs! My webpage is giving me headaches (due to the fact that I have NO idea what I'm doing) so as soon as I get my picture section hooked up you guys can check some of my past traveling photos ;). So why Ireland?? Well, I've always wanted to go...I hear it's a spectacular place when it comes to scenery. Supposedly some of my ancestory is from Ireland - considering that my mom's family is Scottish, and my dad's family is English, might as well add a little fighting Irish, eh? Imagine that family reunion! The fact that my friends from London were going made it even more attractive to go - and to be in Dublin during St.Patties day is something that everyone should probably experience! I also get to see Julia again, which is cool. I know that nothing will happen between us, but she's still adorable and great to flirt with. It's always hard to interact with someone you "like" knowing that nothing will happen but I understand the situation and it makes sense. She can definitely party with the best of them as well...always a bonus! "If you don't like what I say fuck off, who cares, no one really likes you anyway" |
