We all have one My family. Well, what can I say - we all have one. If you don't have one then let me know...I'm in good need of a religion. I've got the usual standard family, 2 parents and one brother. My Dad is probably the nicest guy you'd ever want to meet. He never says anything bad about anyone, doesn't gossip, always happy, and is the hardest worker I've ever met. My Mom is very similar except she's a mom. A little too nosy and maybe a little too overprotective of her kids but what do you expect, she's a mom. If I ever become a parent (which is a big IF the way relationships go with me) I would be ecstatic if I was half the parents my mom and dad were. Of course, I shouldn't really give them all the credit look what they had to work with ;). However, my parents divorced when I was in third year university, which has put a bummer on the family life. But to tell you the truth, I think they're both better people now then when they were together. My dad is certainly happier (he initiated the divorce), and my mom is about 10x more active now. I've also been lucky enough to have a twin brother! I've probably been asked a thousand times what it's like to have a twin so I might as well say it once and get it over with. I'm not sure how other twins feel but it really is like having a duplicate of yourself as your best friend. Imagine being able to have a duplicate of you to play with, share experiences with, and confide to. It's funny, we are still different people, but our thoughts and philosophies on life are the same, our beliefs are the same, we have the same mannerisms, and our skill at sports are pretty much the same. I always know without a doubt that he'll be there for me, no matter what happens, and I mean "really" there for me. There have been so many times when he already has. It's too bad everyone doesn't have a twin, it would definitely make the world a better place. He's also been up and down when it comes to relationships. His ex-girlfriend died of cancer when she was only 27. Imagine that. But I was there for him - and will always be in the future. Actually, he's been dating a great girl for a couple years now...which is SO nice to see. Of all the things in the world I love to see my brother happy - it's great to see him with a great girl. She's also about 7 years younger and he met her on a band trip - hehee - but that's for another blog. "If you don't like what I say fuck off, who cares, no one really likes you anyway" |
